Accountability amongst your peers that you are doing your best to reduce caloric intake and be significantly more active so that you rank well on the weight loss leaderboard. The competitive spirit also plays a big role as you want to lose the most weight within your cohort of friends. Strive not only tracks your weight, but adds a leaderboard, chat, workout notifications and full digital transparency showing your body measurement change and physical activity.

At a minimum, we recommend weight in at least once a week in the morning to see everyone's progress. For best results, weighing in every morning will keep you on track. It will show when you did well the previous day and you would try your best to repeat the same strategy as far as dieting, the type of foods you ate, how much physical activity you did, etc. It will also show you when you did not do great and reaccess what you did wrong the previous day. This gives you an opportunity to make daily adjustments to your diet and exercise plans.

No, Smart Scales are actually very affordable. They integrate with your iPhone and Apple Health. Once it's been setup, Strive will automatically detect new weigh ins and tracking your weight loss will be extremely easy. Smart Scales have native apps and once you weigh in on the native app, Strive will sync with the data in Apple Health. A very affordable Smart/Bluetooth Scale is the Renpho Smart Scale and we highly recommend it.

Yes, the Strive app supports manually weighing in. On the You tab, under the Measurements section there is a scale icon on the top right corner. Tap the scale icon so you can weigh in manually. You would be required to enter your weight, body fat percentage, and possibly your height so we can determine your BMI. If all you have is your height, you can use an arbitrary body fat percentage. In addition to weight loss competitions, we also offer body fat percentage and body mass index(BMI) loss challenges. For those challenges, we recommend using an accurate body fat percentage reading and your accurate height as we determine BMI based on your weight and height.

No, we currently onky support date specific competitions meaning whoever loses the most weight by percentage to their starting weight wins. We are considering building goal based competitions in the future, but for the time being majority of our users love a 30 day challenge to see who can be the biggest loser.

No, the only one you can see your weight is you. Other competitors on Strive will only see the percentage difference as you participate in a weight loss challenge. Strive has a graph showing your weight by week, month, and year that you will see. The other competitors can also see that graph but only the percentage delta/difference.

Strive has extensive privacy settings including a toggle to hide your body measurements delta/difference. Tao your avatar on the top left corner of the Strive app. On that screen, tap the settings option where you will see many privacy controls. Toggle off the Share Measurements option so that other competitors will not see the percentage delta/difference. When in competitions, the leaderboard will however show this difference, but they will not see the data on the profile view.

At this time, the Strive app does not have Personal Trainers to provide nutrition and weight loss tips, but we do have many articles on our weight loss blog. Articles including topics such as water intake, alcoholol, sleep, nutrition, intermitting fasting, caffeine, walking, running, etc. We are considering adding Instructor Led Premium Competitions in the future where Personal Trainers will be compensated with revenue sharing. Yes, we support both the Imperial and Metric System. This applies both to body measurements and distance. Tap your avatar on the top left corner, then tap the Settings option. On the settings view, you can toggle on the metric system if you would like to use kg instead of lbs.

If your competition starts on a Monday, the soonest you can weigh in is Monday morning. If it ends on a Sunday, we normally recommend weighing in the morning of. In most cases, you are the lowest weight in the morning. That being said you have right up to midnight of that Sunday to weigh in before the competition ends. Weight Loss Challenges get very competitive, enjoy!
